Cheney Office Deleted Plame-Related Emails

Josh Marshall picks up on a fact that the news media have not yet reported about. His posting concerns the fact that Patrck Fitzgerald's team investigating the outing of former CIA agent Valerie Plame discovered that VP Dick Cheney's office has deleted emails relating to this affair, contrary to standing White House policy.

Obviously this is an ominous sign. By any standard it gives the impression that the VP's office has something to hide. Maybe there's a more inncuous explanation but I can't see how. As anyone who works with computers will tell, to delete completely any email is a major undertaking. It involves extensive time and effort. This in and of otself points to a conscious effort on the VP's office, or those working in concert with it, to cover up something.

Let's hope Fitzgerald is continuing to investigate this very suspicious event.
