Explosive Abu-Ghraib Photos and Videos to Be Made Public?

And you thought you'd seen the worst of those abu-Ghraib torture photos. If the ACLU wins its court case to have the rest of them and the videos released, you can expect another kind of shock and awe to sweep over the world.

New Yorker reporter Seymour Hersh says they show a young boy being raped, as well as women. They also allegedly contain scenes of torture much worse than those that have branded our memories.

In arguing for keeping these images from the American public, an ACLU lawyer said:

"The government has taken the position in this case that the more outrageously the behavior exhibited by American troops, the less the public has a right to know about it," said Reporters Committee Executive Director Lucy Dalglish. "Such a stance turns the Freedom of Information Act inside out."
The judge in the case is expected to rule sometime after Dec. 15.
